How to Set Up OpenVPN on Swiss Layer
OpenVPN uses UDP 1194 with a valid SSL certificate. One .ovpn file works everywhere.
Download Options
- Client Software (Windows): OpenVPN Connect MSI
- Full Bundle (Software + Config): openvpn.zip
- Config File Only: client.ovpn
For macOS/Linux/iOS/Android: Use official OpenVPN Connect from openvpn.net or App Stores.
Setup Steps (All Platforms)
- Install Client
- Run the MSI (Windows) or download from app store.
- Import Config
- Open OpenVPN app → Import → File/URL → Select client.ovpn
- Or paste config text directly if needed.
- Enter Credentials
- Username: MYVPNHUB\username (If the username on your portal is abracadabra, then your username should be MYVPNHUB\abracadabra)
- Password: From your portal.
- Connect
- Select profile → Connect. Use UDP for speed.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Import fails | Right-click .ovpn → Open with OpenVPN. |
| Auth failed | Double-check username (no MYVPNHUB\ prefix). |
| No internet after connect | Disable/re-enable adapter; ensure kill-switch off if testing. |
Limits: Full-tunnel. 1 device at a time.
