How to Set Up SSTP VPN on Windows (Swiss Layer)
SSTP is Windows-native — no extra software!
Ideal for strict networks or firewalls that filter any other VPN protocol.
Setup Steps (Windows 10/11)
- Open Settings
- Search "VPN" → Add a VPN connection.
- Enter Details
- VPN Provider: Windows (built-in)
- Connection Name: Swiss Layer SSTP
- Server: vpn.swisslayer.com
- VPN Type: SSTP
- Sign-in: Username and password
- Credentials
- Username: MYVPNHUB\username (e.g., MYVPNHUB\blahuser)
- Password: From portal.
- Save & Connect
- Click Connect.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Certificate error | Check date/time on PC. |
| Auth failed | Username MUST include MYVPNHUB\ before the username |
| Port blocked | SSTP uses 443 — contact your ISP if issues. |
Notes: Windows-only native.
For other OS, use OpenVPN.
